In the present era of globalization, close and long term association with the Industry, Research, Consultation, Entrepreneurship and high academic performance of the students are of paramount importance to any reputed Technical Institute.

Considering this aspect, MIT/MITCOE/MAE Pune has set up a seperate Division for Industry Academia Collaborations. Prof. P. Subrahmanyam, person with high academic caliber and vast Industrial experience to his credit, is looking after the various activities, as a Director (Industry Academia Collaborations ). He is assisted by Prof. Hemant Mali, Prof. Suhas Ingle & Mr. Anilkumar Pacha.

With so much of structured moulding and vigorous training as above, the Students would become quite comfortable in undergoing practice sessions on selection process of different Industries, such as Written Tests, Group Discussions, Personal Interviews etc.
It is a matter of great pride that over 300 MNCs / top Corporates (some of which are enlisted below) visit MIT/MITCOE/MAE Institutes for Campus Recruitment and over 80% of the Students are selected by them. This activity is combinely conducted for the three colleges. The Institute has excellent infrastructure for all the Training and Placement Activities.

Training
Besides the high academic standards, Students need to be properly groomed. They are required to be trained and tailored as per the requirement of the current Industry expectations. We train and mould the Students with the help of professional experts, in Aptitude Tests, Soft-skills/Group Discussion/Interview techniques, and personality development.

Technical Workshops I Seminars I Faculty Development Programs
Several Faculty development programs / Technical workshops / Seminars / Guest lecture are organised, during which Faculty & Students develop their skills of presentation and get an opportunity to understand the theoretical knowledge acquired during the academic curriculum and it’s relevance in the practical field, along with exposure to the latest technology.

Entrepreneurship
Ideally, the sole aim of any Technical Institute is not only to increase the ’employability’ of Technical graduates, but also to produce Entrepreneurs. Accordingly, sufficient stress is given in injecting the seeds of the Entrepreneurship in the minds of the budding engineers. As per the same, the Division has signed MoU with an Internationally known organization-National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN), with the help of which, various sessions are organised for the Students, conducted by successful Entrepreneurs.

The department organize number of local, as well as long Industrial tours, to give first hand exposure to the Students on best Industrial practices.
Sandwich Training
MIT is running a unique ‘Sandwich course’ in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering for only few selected Students, which helps them in blending of Theoretical and Practical knowledge, where by their potential employability and Entrepreneurship, is enhanced.

Admission

MIT Pune offers Undergraduate & Post Graduate courses in the faculties of Engineering, Management, Medicine, Pharmacy, Education and other disciplines. Most of these courses are affiliated to the prestigious and well known University of Pune (UOP), whereas others are autonomous courses. ICCR scholarships are available for the foreign students/scholars in various colleges of MIT Pune.

MIT Pune’s IEC also coordinates all other issues related to International Students admitted to all the institutions under MIT Pune. MIT Pune’s IEC is under the control of the Executive Director (Planning and Development),
Prof. Mangesh T. Karad, who is also the International Students Advisor. Administrative control and support to the center is provided by well-known teacher/Prof. Sudhir Namdeo Rane as the Director of the Centre.

Mechanical Engineering Mechanical Engineering finds applications in all fields of technology. These engineers are required in automobile, chemical, electronics, steel, and fertilizer industries.   Civil Engineering A Civil Engineer has to work in diverse fields viz. Irrigation, Dams, Canals, Hydropower, Roads, Railways, Buildings, Industrial Structures, Bridges, Docks, Harbours, Airfields, Tunnels, Environmental Engineering (including Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment Systems) etc.   Electronics & Telecommunication E&TC graduates find wide opportunities in today’s growing communications era. This course has been designed by the University of Pune in consultation with senior industrialists in the Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering field. The career paths followed are diverse ranging from electronic product design to heavy electrical plant maintenance, from research to production, from technical focus to customer focus.   Computer Engineering We are indeed living in the computer age. Today computers are used in a wide range of applications. Whether it is a medical application or banking , computers are used to solve complex problems in an efficient manner in a short time. Since the ever-advancing field of computer technology has got a wide range of applications, computer engineers have a promising future.   Information Technology The pivotal role of the technical education system in facilitating and expediting the process of economic and industrial development of the country is well recognized. Technical education is one of the most significant components of human resource development spectrum with great potential for adding value to products and services, for contributing to the national economy, and for improving the quality of the life of the people.   Petroleum Engineering The four years degree course in Petroleum Engineering offered by the institute is permanently affiliated to Pune University and is accredited by AICTE. Over seven hundred graduate and postgraduate students have been graduated from this department since 1987 and are working at different positions in Petroleum Industry in India and abroad with great distinction.   Petrochemical Engineering In view of the ever increasing demand for petroleum and petrochemicals as energy resources and for consumption as commodity products a curriculum in the branches of Petroleum and Petrochemical engineering was evolved by the University of Pune. Maharashtra Institute of Technology takes pride in offering these high technology oriented professional degree courses to the young students aspiring for challenging career.   Polymer Engineering Plastics and polymers have been inseparable parts of our lives since the last decade. From the humble “carry-bag” to the auto-components to those in space crafts, it is difficult to imagine life without plastics. The polymer industry has seen unprecedented growth in the last few decades.   Applied Mechanics Department of Applied Mechanics has well-equipped laboratories and experienced senior faculty. It is fully involved in the task of teaching the core subjects like Engineering Mechanics for first year engineering students of all disciplines, Strength of Materials, Analysis and Design of reinforced Concrete Structures, Steel Structures, Pre-stressed Concrete Structures and Concrete Technology and Theory of Structures to Civil Engineering discipline.   MBA- Specialization in Mktg.,Finance, HR, Operating Systems & IB MIT Master of Business Administration, is an integral part of MAEER’s MIT, Pune. It was established in 2007 to impart value based education in the field of management science with the aim of creating global leaders and entrepreneurs for the nation.   Mathematics Deparment of Mathematics was established in 1983 along with the Institution and its Source of Inspiration was Prof. J.N. Wartikar,former Principal of MIT & former Head of Mathematics Department   Workshop The Department of Workshop and Production has four spacious shops namely: (1) Machine Shop, (2) Black-smithy Shop, (3) Carpentry and Fitting Shop & (4) Metrology Laboratory. All the shops are equipped with quality equipments and have well-qualified and experienced staff to maintain the equipment and impart training to students.   Physics Physics, which is sometimes called as Natural Philosophy, is a science of matter, energy and their interaction as experienced in our universe. This ‘definition’ hardly represents what physics exactly means and allows physics to overlap on almost every branch of science and technology. The disciplines like chemical physics, biophysics, mathematical physics, geophysics, astrophysics and engineering physics clearly indicate the all-inclusive nature of physics.   Humanities & Managment The Department of Humanities and Management Sciences was established in the year 1987 under the aegis of MAEER’s Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune.
The principal objective of this department is to provide under graduate education in courses like Industrial Management, Industrial Organization and Management, Engineering Economics, Social Sciences, Financial Management, Marketing Management, Materials Management, Business Administration and Management, Foreign trade etc.

Administration

Administration plays an important role in the effective management of a mammoth educational institute like M.I.T., Pune. The volume of work in such an ever-growing Institute is stupendous and it encompasses number of activities related to the staff as well as student community – like Admissions, Fee acceptance & other financial matters, Students record & handling of the day to day queries by the students, Recruitment of staff & handing of their records , conducting examinations, issue of timely instructions to staff & students of the various departments, resolving the procedural matters related to the University, Directorate of Technical Education (M.S.), Department of Higher & Technical Education(M.S.), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) etc. Thus, right from inception to graduation of the student and even well there after, this department is co-coordinating all the activities smoothly and efficiently for their bright future.

Similarly, this administrative staff helps & supports the faculty and staff during their service period. As such, this department is a backbone of the Institute.
