Atharva College of Engineering, Malad (West)

Atharva College of Engineering was founded in 1999 at Borivali(W), Mumbai. It was located in a temporary building adjacent to MK college and in the premises of a junior school in Borivali. Later it moved onto its own campus in Charkop, Malad (West) in 2001.

Sunil Rane is the Founder Secretary of Atharva Educational Trust and Executive President of Atharva Group of Institutes which runs the college. Gopinath Munde (Ex-Deputy Chief Minister Of Maharashtra) is the President of the Atharva Educational Trust. Dr. S. P. Kallurkar is the Principal

College festivals

Rhythm” is the college’s annual festival, taking place in even semesters.

“Techithon” is a festival targeting current technology, when games and seminars take place in Techithon. It takes place in Odd semesters. Each year Techithon has a theme.Rock Shows are a common during festivals.
“Atharva cha raja” the annual Ganesh utsav is a part of the college’s festivals.
“E-Week” which hosted by Ember (The Entrepreneurship cell)
“IEEE-360°” by IEEE Student Chapter. In 2012, Atharva won National level Nilima-Rovshen Innovation & Creativity award from NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network). In 2013, Atharva won National level Championship Runner up award from NEN

Sports

The college has a cricket ground, volleyball court, basketball court, and gym.

Infrastructure

Presentation rooms, seminar halls, auditorium, labs, and workshop are on the campus, with recreational rooms, swimming pool, game room.

This college is the only college in University of Mumbai to host a state-of-the-art Atharva Satellite Ground-Station developed and run by the students of the college under the support and guidance of the college management.

Rankings

Atharva college of engineering was ranked 98th in the top 100 engineering institutes in India and 48 in private institutes of India by Times of India. IN 2014-15 survey by times group ace ranked at best 5th engineering college in Mumbai and ranked 48 in private engineering college

Training & Placement Cell is headed by Training & Placement officer who is assisted by an advisory board consisting of faculty member, T&P staff & students.Atharva college of Engineering is a growing branch of the huge organization, Atharva Educational Trust. Atharva college of Engineering has developed its independent Training & Placement Cell to give the students better training and job opportunities. Atharva college of Engineering enrolls every year 480 students for engineering course in the stream of Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics Engineering & Electrical Engineering. Every year a bright and zealous cluster of students come into Atharva in search of a great career and better placement opportunities. This is exactly what we strive to do, cater the needs and assist the students to achieve their ambition towards getting the best job opening. The T & P Cell constantly helps the students in gaining necessary information resources, skills and contacts to help them achieve their career goals. To accomplish this mission we have planned several activities and events that will groom the students for long-term. Seminars, guest-lectures and short workshops are some of these activities, which will help the students to develop their professional abilities. The institute has very active industrial links and tied-up with prestigious US placement agencies and several I.T. multinational organizations to make our students enter in the real global world. Objective: Provide placement to eligible student who are completing B.E. Degree course. Campus Recruitment for all the streams i.e. Computer Engineering, Information Technology and Electronics & Telecommunication. Ensure the decent placement in domestic as well as known Multinational companies (MNC) of global market. Preparing Students for Campus Recruitment through pre-placement Training, i.e. Written Test, Group Discussion and Interviews. Grooming students by organizing Seminars and Guest lecturers and enhancing their professional skills. Assisting the students to prepare an ideal Curriculum Vitae and forward it to companies, if required, before the Campus recruitment Functions: Display job advertisement received from Global Corporate world & Multinational organization. Displaying job advertisement published in newspapers / magazines. Curriculum Vitae of all interested applicants/ candidates will be forwarded to the companies, if required, before the campus recruitment. Providing necessary facilities for the companies during the campus recruitment session. Uploading the Curriculum Vitae on interest so that employers can view them at their convenience. Confirming the final selection of the students while at the campus, or at the earlier possible date. If the company desires to conduct off-campus recruitment, if requested or required, the placement Cell will do the needful for the same
