Education is light. Education is the way to a larger purpose. As an educationist, almost two decades back, I looked at all that could be corrected in the educational system. Sinhgad Technical Education Society was our humble effort to bring education to more people. Education that they need. Education that they desire for. Education that is now within their reach.
We always put purpose before short term achievements, vision before short-cuts. In two decades we have come a long way. What started as a humble dream is now a revolution. To see over seventy thousand students pursuing their dream in our campuses every year, cannot be explained any better. Everywhere you look, you see a young mind creating a new future for the world. In his fertile imagination, he has no obstacles. He knows there is a guide nearby who will hold his hand if he were to miss a step. He is free to foresee a world better than what you and I have made.
It is this environment of excellence and freedom that we have built into our institutions. Every time I see a child struggling with the complexities of a syllabus, I just say, look deep, it is simple.
In the twelve campuses and our 117 institutes, we have just kept one thing common, a burning ambition. We have come a long way. And what we cultivate in our students, we keep alive for ourselves. Admissions
65% of students are admitted on the basis of marks scored on the Maharashtra Engineering Entrance and 15% of the students from outside Maharashtra state by management quota admitted through the All-India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE).

Placements and higher education
The training and placement cell on the campus is in charge of preparing students in the third (and sometimes fourth) year to appear for campus interviews. In recent years, companies such as NVidia, Persistent Systems, Accenture, Symantec, TCS, IBM India, Cognizant, Infosys, SunGuard, Larsen & Toubro Infotech, General Motors, TCTS, CMC Ltd, Lafarge, Daimler Chrysler, Cyronics, and Kirloskar Brothers have been some of the companies that have actively recruited undergraduates. For the past three years maximum salary reached to 8 lacs/annum, with the average being around 2.5 lacs/annum. Recently in 2012 Barclays Investment Bank has also approached SCOE for offering placements and internships to students from branches like IT and Computer engg with high salaries. For 2012, Barclays selected 1 student from SCOE and 4 from SKNCOE(sister institute) for the position of Analyst with an undisclosed high salary. .Microsoft has joined the league of placement giving companies in the previous year and selected a couple of students. Students here surely have a promising future if they have an above average academic record. Student organizations and clubs
Sinhgad College of Engineering hosts a wide range of student bodies to cultivate a sense of community among the students while at the same time providing them with opportunities and challenges. SCOE’s many organizations and clubs help foster a spirit of leadership development and event planning among the students as well as act as a platform for interacting with alumni and industry professionals. The activities of these organization is managed by a specially elected student body under the guidance of an assigned staff coordinator.
